Redesigning Affordance: A Photo Album Journey

For my recent assignment on redesigning affordance, I chose to create an analog interpretation of my photo shared on social media. Instead of traditional text and images, I crafted a photo album that captures my experiences chronologically, presented in the form of a calendar.

The idea behind this format is: flipping through a calendar gives you a tangible sense of time. Each page turn represents a moment in my journey, allowing viewers to experience my past memories as if they were physically archiving photos. This method reflects how we often remember our lives—through the visual snapshots that help us connect with the moments that shaped us.

In my photo album, each month features carefully selected images that tell a story, evoking emotions and memories tied to specific times and events. The chronological layout creates a narrative flow, guiding viewers through my experiences while inviting them to reflect on their own memories.

This analog approach not only enhances the sense of connection but also highlights the tactile experience of interacting with physical photos. In a digital age where our memories often exist on screens, this photo album serves as a reminder of the joy found in flipping through physical archives, making our past feel more present.

Overall, this assignment challenged me to think differently about how we present information and experiences. By redesigning affordance through an analog medium, I aimed to create a richer, more engaging way to share my story while encouraging others to cherish their own memories in a similar fashion.
